A group of eighty lovely ladies from UK began a 400 km cycling for charity from the foothills of the snowcapped Mt. Kenya in the early morning of Tuesday 8th November 2011. The team in a jovial spirit snaked through Nyeri town from Green Hills Hotel. The trail could be seen negotiating their way across Chania River towards Mweiga as the sun was slowly was rising steadily above them. It was a pity the shy sacred mountain decided to hide its beauty on this day.
Mr. Karuga and I followed these ladies of great stamina and courage from Mweiga to Kiawara to celebrate them and give them the region guidebook. As we drove past them we were challenged by the great determination and friendship displayed by the warm waves to children and spectators along the route as they peddled their way up the hills and valleys. The weather was just right for the event and we wish it will be so throughout the event.
